סמינר לפיזיקה של מערכות ביולוגיות וחומרים רכים: Active ions: Dynamic adsorption and dynamic over-screening
Prof. Derek Frydel , Santa Maria Technical University, Chile
The talk discusses various effects that arise when the underlying dynamics of electrolytes changes from passive to active Brownian motion. The focus is laid on the structure of a double-layer in a wall geometry. The first part of the talk introduces active Brownian motion in an intuitive manner and provides a number of basic examples. The second part presents a number of novel features that arise in a system of active ions. To better appreciate these findings, these effects are compared with analogous behaviors found in normal electrolytes.
